Job Description

Our auction subsidiary, Auction Crew, currently has an opening for a Auction Describer. Responsible for auction operational processes.  You will be working with sales and operations teams.  Your handling some of the day to day needs of our existing buyers and sellers will enable our outside sales team to spend more time finding new consignors. is an online auction.  We auction all types of new and used items that are sourced by business liquidations, store returns, heavy equipment companies, auto lots, and estates. As an Auction Describer, you’ll be responsible for researching, cataloging, and writing about items that are offered online. The ideal candidate for this position has strong writing ability.  This position is responsible for reviewing photos and describing the inventory.  Additionally, this position may support uploading images and printing lot stickers.  Must be detail oriented.  This is an evening part time work from home position.  Must be available on the weekends as needed. 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Catalogue, research, and write descriptions of inventory

  • Ensure well-written, accurate descriptions
  • Efficiently capture and communicate customer requirements 

  • Lot and print lot stickers per Lotting process

  • Proofread descriptions written by peers
  • Fast and accurate typing and spelling
  • Attends online training sessions to enhance skills and build knowledge 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management 

  • High level of integrity and work ethic, positive mindset with strong orientation for teamwork



  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Internet
  • Basic computer software skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deliver under time pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to effectively manage your workload
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Good communication skills


  • 1 year of experience in catalogue experience in digital and computer processing a plus
  • Auction experience is a plus

Hourly base pay rate is $15 - $20/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
