I was born and raised on a farm in southeast Iowa. Outside of school I spent every waking hour on the farm working with horses or helping with other work. When I was about 14 I started a small waitressing gig with my mother to make some extra money and I continued to do that job on and off until I was a junior in High School. After high school I attended a local community college so I could save money by living at home and working on the farm. In order to graduate college I was required to do a 200 hour internship. That is how I began my journey at Steffes Group, Inc. We are family friends with the location manager there in Mount Pleasant, IA and he gave me the internship in April of 2019. My duties were a little bit of everything. Most of the time I was answering phones and scanning real estate files but I also did much more. I photographed an entire Ring for the Sportsman Auction, I photographed many personal property auctions, went to many personal property loadouts, cleaned out equipment, went to auctions to check people in and out, and much more. After my time was up at Steffes Group, Inc. as their intern in July 2019 it was already discussed that I would come back over winter break and cover for the lady they had on maternity leave. I worked a couple days a week throughout the months of November, December, and January until I went back to school. After I graduated in May of 2020 I helped out a couples times again at Steffes Group, Inc., but that was the extent of my work there because I had decided to move.
